WixWoo commission is the marketplace fee taken from a seller order before the seller payout is calculated.
The commission rate is not always the same for every product. WixWoo can use different commission rates for different product categories, so the category selected for a product matters.
How the commission rate is chosen
- WixWoo normally uses the commission rate from the product's WixWoo category.
- If that category has parent categories, WixWoo can fall back through the category tree until it finds a valid rate.
- If a product-specific or seller-specific commission override exists, that override can be used instead.
- If no category or override rate is found, WixWoo uses the default marketplace commission setting.
Why dropshipping category mapping matters
Dropshipping products from BigBuy, CJ Dropshipping and Matterhorn Wholesale are mapped into WixWoo categories before import. The mapped WixWoo category is the category that controls the marketplace commission for future customer orders.
For example, if a supplier product is mapped into a WixWoo category with a higher commission rate, future orders for that product can have a higher WixWoo fee. If it is mapped into a category with a lower commission rate, the WixWoo fee can be lower.
Orders with more than one product
When an order contains products from more than one category, WixWoo calculates commission per order item. The order detail page may show a blended commission rate because the order can contain several products with different category rates.
Supplier costs are separate
For dropshipping orders, WixWoo commission is separate from supplier costs. The seller should still account for supplier product cost, supplier shipping cost, WixWoo commission and any payment gateway charges when checking profit.
- Buyer paid total: the customer payment collected through WixWoo.
- WixWoo commission: the marketplace fee taken by WixWoo.
- Supplier product cost: the amount the supplier charges for the product.
- Supplier shipping cost: the shipping charge returned or estimated for the supplier order.
- Estimated seller profit: the amount left after supplier costs and WixWoo commission.
Payment gateway fees, refunds, chargebacks and manual supplier adjustments may not be included in the estimated profit shown inside supplier order screens.
Best practice for sellers
- Check the WixWoo category before publishing imported products.
- Use enough markup to cover supplier product cost, supplier shipping and WixWoo commission.
- Review the Supplier Orders page after a sale to confirm estimated profit.
- For low-cost products, consider including supplier shipping in the product price or using a higher markup.
